Why not try walking to work, school, the shops, the cinema... anywhere you can get to on foot?

It's the easiest and cheapest form of exercise there is, and there are lots of benefits to getting out and about in the fresh air. Whether it's 20 minutes or 2 hours, walking can improve your mood, clear your head and help with mental wellbeing. Take a leisurely stroll or set off on a power walk to raise your heart rate.

And if you live a bit too far to walk to and from work, you could always walk to the nearest bus or train station – it’s an easy way to build walking into your day-to-day journeys.
